Consider making a day of it!

  • Dress for the occasion - wear your matching reindeer antlers or get your ugly Christmas sweaters on
  • Pop some corn, bake some treats or start a craft project the kids can show to Santa
  • Get in the holiday spirit with your favorite carols or a classic Christmas movie to generate anticipation
  • Santa is here to bring out the kid in all of us & he is excited to hear what your family has been up to
  • Even plucky kids sometimes go shy in front of Santa - parents participation can help children feel more comfortable & interactive
  • Don’t overthink it unscripted moments are more magical

  • TEST YOUR INTERNET CONNECTION - Go to Google “Internet Speed Test” and “Run Speed Test” you will need at least .65Mbps, better than 1Mbps is recommended - if your video works on other video-conference platforms it should work with North Pole Hotline
  • SET YOUR DEVICE ON A STABLE SURFACE - a computer or tablet is best, but a smartphone works if you can hold it steady
  • TEST YOUR LIGHTING AHEAD OF TIME - make sure you are in a well lit area & not backlit
  • STAY INSIDE THE FRAME - we know you are excited to meet Santa, but try to stay in your seat & make ‘eye contact’ with the camera
  • SHOW UP EARLY so you are relaxed & ready to enjoy every second with Santa

Some of our friends watch their video over and over to revisit the joy of Christmas year-round, and even share it as a video Christmas letter.

After your Visit With Santa you will receive a link to your personal keepsake video to share with your friends and family.

During your booking process you will be invited to tell Santa what you want him to know about your family. Other than the basic information needed to conduct the visit, what you provide is up to you, but we have a number of suggestions that we find make the visit even more magical. Santa can applaud your child’s good behaviour and encourage new habits they are trying to build. Tell Santa about favorite gifts last Christmas and special occasions your kids are excited about. Share the names of your pets and your house elf, whatever will make the chat even more real and memorable for your child. Santa will surprise and delight your children in a personal and thoughtful way with your fun facts.

A computer or tablet is recommended, a video-capable smartphone will also work

High-speed internet connection - Test your internet, go to Google “Internet Speed Test” and “Run Speed Test” - you will need at least .65Mbps, better than 1Mbps is recommended - if your video works with video-conferencing platforms it should work with North Pole Hotline

Note: Apple devices utilizing iOS MUST use the Safari browser to work correctly, all other systems may use Chrome, Firefox, or Safari (Windows, Mac OS, Android)

No - your computer, tablet or mobile camera will work just fine. That said, generally the better the camera of your device the better your video will be. So, if you do have a good web camera that is the best option. A mobile phone would be the least suitable choice, though it will work in a pinch.

Not exactly… North Pole Hotline is an enchanting experience delivering the warmth and spirit of Christmas to your home. Families enjoy a heart-to-heart with Santa Claus in real-time on a secure, private, custom-built video platform. We have designed the Video-Visit to be a delightful occasion that your children will talk about for years to come.

star

Absolutely! Parents participate in the family visit, making the children more comfortable meeting Santa Claus. Parents choose what information to share with Santa to enable a more personal visit. Our private, proprietary platform limits connectivity to the scheduled time slot of the Video-Visit. Our parent company Welcome Santa ensures that your information is appropriately secured in compliance with applicable regulations.

star

This is a family experience. We find that the experience is best with one or two children participating and no more than four or five to ensure everyone gets a chance to feel heard.

star

The Visit With Santa is about 5-minutes long, we recommend you join at least 5-minutes early to ensure your system is ready to go - test your sound and video so there is no last minute rush.

star

It is a good idea to test your system when you book the visit. Other than that all you need to do is to open your reminder and click on the link a few minutes before your scheduled Video-Visit - Santa will take care of the magic.

star

You bet! Santa loves every “child”, he cherishes their differences and diverse needs and abilities. It is important to prepare your child for the visit, setting expectations about the duration of the visit and helping them plan what they want to share with Santa.

“Video-Visits” is our preference, in order to distinguish from the use of “virtual” to describe animated atmospheres and fictional characters such as one finds in typical virtual interactions like video gaming. On our proprietary platform families engage in a live, real-time, personalized Visit with Santa, the jolly old elf himself.
